I have been a tractor mechanic since 1977 when I completed my apprenticeship in a small mixed garage on both tractors and cars and anything else that came in the front door.
In my RUclips channel "Bundy Bears Shed" I try and put tractor repair information out for the public in an effort to try and encourage people to do their own repairs.
I break it all down into an easy-to-understand format that people will find easy to follow.
I also have a weekly chat about what is going on in the shed, so people have a chance to see what happens when the cameras are off.
If you found my channel of use or liked the videos you can buy me a beer here if you choose to. buymeacoffee.com/bundybearsshed

I have multiple problems with my Perkins 152 3 cyl on MF35. It has blown gaskets on combustion chamber twice and many leaking points on CAV pump and very hard to start (before blowing gaskets). Did my use of a lot of ether to start the tractor blow the gaskets? Is bad timing blowing the gaskets? Hard start due to fuel system air leaks, timing, injectors, or what? Any how, your videos are really upping my chance of getting things fixed. Thank you, Doug.
Need details for pump
Very well done. You are a great teacher. I have subscribed. Thank you.
This is very helpful. Chances are I would make a mistake without your help. Thank you.
Awesome!
Learning a lot. Thank you.
Diamond! Thanks mate 😊
Hi Lance, that was most unusual, never seen anything like that in England or Ireland where I now live. My uncle had an old Oliver tractor on his farm in Nottinghamshire 70 years ago when I was a kid. It had steel wheels, he called them "spade lugs". Thanks for sharing and best regards from Ireland.
Those Massey 97 and 95 I always found odd that they were buying both Moline and Olivers at the same time.
Hi Lance, I was wondering if it is possible to rebuilt the harmonic balancer. The balancer compound has let go. It is off of a 6 cyl 354 perkins, in the 860 Massey combine. I'm told by a perkins rep that they are no longer available. Thanks Barry
very down to earth instructions ,and have used as a reference on a number of occasions to refresh my memory.{i.e. being retired} sometimes the old grey matter lacks inspiration. thanks for being there
cool
Lucky Lefty.... you discover after the install there is a Left and Right LOL. Sounds like you got lucky so no foul. I'm not always that lucky 🙄Great video series, I'm loving it for sure.
I am replacing thw six o-rings in the steering column while the column is still on the tractor. What is the best way to get the old seals removed and the new ones in?
Sharpen a piece of stiff wire and bend it to 90 deg seems to work. When you think it is clean blow some compressed air in just to be sure.
cool
Thanks
G Day Lance, that little ford's gonna look really good when you've finished it, Enjoy your camping trip, looking farward tot he vido's when you get back. many thanks Barry
Thanks Barry, Yeah the camping will be great for a change, we used to go there a lot but somehow we just got busy in our lives and dont seem to make the time any more. It will be a nice break.
@@BundyBearsShed I know exactly what you mean, we do that all the time and then you put a stop in, and have a look at your life and think WTF are we doing? then you start and live again, thats where we are right now, have a great time, drink good amounts of the golden and red stuff and sit and talk to your friends till it get's dark. go to sleep and do it all again tomorrow. Have fun Barry
X fingers for a sale of the business. Another great stew Lance. Its great to be retired just happened to me😅. Looking forward to the next stew. 🇩🇰🇩🇰
Yeah the retirement thing might take a bit to get used to but Ill manage some how if it all comes off.
👌👍
Would Love to see the hyd pump valve adjustment to set upper lower stops on the position control. I went through and redid my lift cover using your series very informative explaining everything
wwhen I get back to it I will show it for sure but my knee is a bit bad at the moment so Im not doing much on the 65.
Excellent Stew Lance! Great looking morning down there! The 2000 is certainly going to keep you busy, look forward to seeing her completed. Good luck with the sale of the business, sounds promising. Enjoy your camping trip, can't beat a few beers on the beach!
Can't wait for a few days of down time. apparently there are wales off shore at present so if they are close enough we will send up the drone.
Another great stew Lance. Exciting news about a good prospect for the sale of the business. I hope that it works out well for you. I hope your knee heals soon. Have a great few days away. Good luck.
Thanks Peter, Yeah a few days off will be nice for a change.
Great potential in your business that's for sure, if I were a younger man I'd have taken it on myself.
Yeah it could go way bigger yet but if it goes through it will be interesting to see what direction it takes.
What about those numbers you spoke of? Not quite sure where my spring goes on my throttle lever.
I explain it here ruclips.net/video/xK44HrQtAF8/видео.html this is a 3 part series. The other ones I did are in the Massey Ferguson 135 6 speed playlist videos 14 and 15
What does he say around 25,42? I don't understand it quite well, does he say 65 and 72 or what does he say? 🙏🙏
I say 0.065" or 0.070" gap
Thank you Sir for your videos, do you have a video on how to remove the top plate, part of the 3 piint hitch. Thank You for your time!
Here is a link to the video
@BundyBearsShed Thank You!
Macam mana dengan John deere 2450 ? Sy tidak boleh bukak sampai sekarang di bahagian dalam steering box
2450 can be exactly the same if it does not have hydrostatic steering.
Hi Bundy, greetings from Ireland. I have a similar pump on my TEF20 and have air in the injection pump. Diesel is draining down into oil sump. Injector spray pattern is good. Any idea where I need to look for this leak. The pump reservoir will have air in it which I bleed before I start. Engine is constantly hunting when running. Any ideas where I need to look.
Look at the front pump seal or for a leaky manifold heater, the hunting can be a diaphragm leak or a blocked orifice in the inlet manifold.
your last coment was very interesting ,89 hours !! i just purchased a la105 done 96 hours ,thinking everything would be fine NOT TRUE ,idler bearing noise /.Having a x300R for many years done 600 hours ,replaced all bearings in your maner ,drill out and 6203's and away we go save lots of dollars, and a 300r has "lots" of idelers /bearings /\. i wa sthinking of doing a vidio and You Saved me to bother ,,Well Done Mate .South Au.
Glad to help, these are a lot cheaper nowadays but probably the same quality.
Honestly if you stop running your damn mouth about other stuff and just do the work !. It should not take but 10 minutes to rebuild the cylinder . People.havw to run their.mouth !
As usual the ones with no videos on their channels know how we should be doing things, how about filming your own to show how to do it properly. Read the other comments you are probably the only smart a*se comment there.
Great information much respect Ireland 🇮🇪.
Much appreciated
Hi Lance How is temperature of oil in chips coocker?
around 180c
If these are the same carb that`s available on Ebay in the UK then you were ripped off on the price as I bought one here in the UK for £25. Not sure what equates to in $AU. I did buy the one that looks like the Marvel Schleber type which were cheaper still at £14 but the bolt hole are just that bit out which is a huge shame.
I can buy these for $95 now but the first ones were more expensive. The Scheibler copies are cheaper as well. Currently one pound sterling is $1.96au. we do get ripped there with exchange rates. I left this carb on the tractor for a long term test and it is still going great.
IAM sorry to hear about your farther I know exactly how you feel I have lost my MUM DAD AND One of my DAUGHTER SINCE 2021 I FIND I HAVE to keep my mind busy your videos have been a great help thankyou take care and keep the videos coming thanks again,
Hello, good afternoon friend, I really liked your explanation, I can see that you understand the hydraulics of the Massey Ferguson, I have one of the 200 line and it has a knock that can only be heard when it reaches the desired height, that is, when it is lifting a heavy implement it only makes noise if you hear when it reaches the height defined by the interior lever, that is, if you set this lever to lift 40cm it lifts it up to there without making any noise and when it reaches that defined height it starts to make a beat, you get the idea that this is when it tries to balance the pressures to maintain that position exactly what you think it might be...Thanks from Portugal.
The knock is from the pump supports and the way the pump works, they almost always do what you are explaining and go for many years like that normally.
@@BundyBearsShed Thanks for your help! It's a very loud noise and it didn't make it before... but I wonder if it's the pump supports, should it make it when lifting weight? When it's under strain, for example, if it's put on constant pumping, it doesn't make any noise and only makes noise when it reaches the height set by the lever, whether it's 40cm from the floor or in the transport position...
usually they make noise under load, Im not sure why yours only makes it when cancelling the lift, possibly lift cover adjustments are out.
Thanks for the stew Lance. Sorry about the knee, obviously you thrashed it years ago, now you're paying for it, wait until you get old. The trailer looks really good, should be very handy.
G day Geoff, Yeah I suppose all that kneeling on the knees fixing stuf might not have helped. Not to worry it seems to be getting better quickly this time so whatever I did must have just tickled it up a bit.
G Day Lance, that trailer looks a doozy, gotta make life easier, look after that knee, I know from experience what the pains like. take care many thanks Barry
Thanks Barry, the knee is coming good quite quickly this time so whatever I did to it cant have been as bad as the first time. Im tryint to stay with office duties but thats not very interesting, lol.
Sorry to hear about your crooked knee 😮. Take it easy Lance 😊. Very fine trailer and really cheap 👍. Great Stew as always. Stay safe and healthy 👍🇩🇰
Thanks will do.
I just got a JD5403 and after a few hours use it started "bumping" while steering and while lifting the bucket. just started so the tractor is down. Do you think it could by that bypass valve??? Great Video.
I think the 5403 may have a different setup.
@@BundyBearsShed probably. TY
Have you thought of getting a Cat6 data cable run from the house router to the container, wouldn't need to leave the door open for WiFi then.
Yes we did look at that but no real way to do it neatly just yet. I should set up an office in the garage on the house, it is only ever used for storage.
Great stew. Nice trailer. Take care. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks, you too!
Great Stew Lance! Hope your knee improves in time for the camping trip! The new trailer looks spot-on, should make the job of transporting tractors a lot easier. Neat job on the pipe for the Ford 2000, it's going to be good as new by the time you have finished working on it!
Yes it will hopefully, there is a bit to go yet and as usual Im waiting for a few parts.
Great stew Lance,,and Happy new trailer,,I’ve just bought a tilt bed trailer because I don’t like messing about with ramps and over here they usually get stolen anyway,, I’m very pleased with the tilt bed function,,I even fetched a trike for a mate last week,,it’s the old saying,,”You’ve always got a friend when you own a trailer” 😂😂👍🤠
Right on with the friends thing, lol. I am looking forward to it.
Great stew, Lance. The guy that invented heli-coils deserves a medal. I've saved many aluminium cylinder heads with stripped spark plug threads using them. Sorry about the sore knee; I've had one knee replaced and now the other one is talking to me. It's those wonderful "golden years!"
Thanks David, The knee is coming good quite quickly this time so Ill take it easy for a bit longer and hopefully it comes good again.
Air blowers go to the same place as the tape measures I reckon. I'm suffering a bad back at the moment, bloody gravity.....
Yeah if I ever move from here Ill probably find a bucket of each.
@@BundyBearsShedsame here and 10mm sockets
That was a great stew Lance. Plenty of content what with the new trailer. That sounds good and exciting at the same time. Look forward to seeing it. Sorting the old Austin out is always satisfying especially when all you have done to it means that it should work but it doesn’t. That’s when your experience comes into play and you draw on it. I love those times. Good luck.
Thanks Peter👍
Where do you get your multi power parts
Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia.
Very nicely explained , thank you .
Glad it was helpful!
Are the multipower components the same between the 135 and 35? Thanks
Yes
Is it all pretty much the same practice for the massey 35 aswell?
Yes the pump mat be a little different but basically the same.
@BundyBearsShed thanks Lance
Man, that was light years ahead of plowing with oxen, horse, or mule. First time I've seen a side board plow working. Looks a bit rough.
A bit rough but 2 different sizes of ploughs here as well.
